Founded on Research and Innovation

MentalWIN is a brainchild of the founder’s PhD research project that focused on mental health within the Black African and Caribbean population. People from this community tend to be diagnosed late as they present late to services and health centres, often in crisis. Post-diagnosis, Black African and Caribbean people underused mental health services for reasons such as the unavailability of culturally sensitive services, lack of knowledge and awareness, etc.

MentalWIN is designed to contribute to bridging the gap, improve timely help-seeking for mental illnesses, and support improved service use and engagement among this population.
